Coming from a family of teachers it was natural that I would too. My path into primary teaching changed to early childhood after being involved with the Whangarei Parents Centre facilitating courses for new parents. There I learnt about brain development in infants and toddlers and the importance of community for a new parent. It was with this knowledge that I wanted to work with young children in their early years.

As a kaiako, I like to work from a heart-centred space with kindness and respect – to take the time to understand the child. And of course, the connections, fun, and laughter.

Most Saturday mornings are spent volunteering at the local parkrun. I enjoy doing physical endurance events such as triathlon and recently entered the realm of ultrarunning.
